Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: June 2025

1. Proposals & Estimates

All proposals are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Pricing is based on the current market cost of materials and the conditions described at the time of the estimate.

If site conditions change, or if additional work is required that was not originally quoted, the proposal may be revised to reflect those changes. Any revisions will be discussed and approved by the client before work proceeds.

2. Scheduling & Access

Installation dates are scheduled based on availability and are not confirmed until a signed proposal and deposit (if required) are received.

The client is responsible for providing clear access to all windows receiving treatment. This includes removing blinds, curtains, furniture, and any other obstructions before our technicians arrive.

If the work area is not ready, rescheduling may be required, which can result in additional charges.

3. Payment Terms

Payment is due in full upon completion of installation, unless otherwise agreed to in writing. A deposit may be required for larger projects or special-order films.

Invoices must be paid within 30 days of receipt, unless NET terms have been agreed upon in writing prior to the start of the project. We accept payments by cash, check, or major credit cards. Returned checks may incur a processing fee.

Invoices not paid within the stated timeframe may be subject to late fees or collection action.

4. Warranty

All film installations are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, which typically includes coverage against bubbling, peeling, cracking, and discoloration under normal use.

Healan Window Films also provides a workmanship warranty. If there is an issue related to how the film was applied, we will correct it at no charge.

The warranty is void if the film is damaged due to:

  • Improper cleaning (e.g., ammonia-based products)

  • Physical damage (scratches, punctures)

  • Tampering or removal

Always follow our care instructions to ensure long-lasting results.

5. Film Performance & Appearance

Window film performance depends on the type of glass, direction of exposure, and product selected. While film significantly reduces heat, glare, and UV exposure, results may vary from room to room.

After installation, it is normal for small water bubbles or a hazy appearance to be present. This is part of the curing process and may take 7 to 30 days to fully settle, depending on weather and film type.

Do not clean or touch the film during this period. Once cured, the film will be optically clear.

6. Liability

Healan Window Films takes great care during installation and conducts a thorough initial consultation to identify any potential risks.

During this consultation, we will meter the glass to determine if it is non-standard or specialty glass (e.g., Low-E coatings, textured glass, dual-pane with known seal failures). This allows us to recommend the safest and most compatible film options.

While every effort is made to prevent damage, Healan Window Films is not liable for pre-existing damage, compromised window seals, or issues that arise due to undisclosed conditions.

Our liability is limited to the cost of the film installation itself and does not extend to the replacement of glass, frames, or any related structures unless explicitly stated in writing.

7. Cancellation & Rescheduling

We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling of appointments.

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or no-shows, may be subject to a rescheduling fee or deposit forfeiture.

If weather or other uncontrollable conditions prevent installation, we will work with you to reschedule as soon as possible.

8. Customer Responsibilities

To ensure a smooth and efficient installation, we ask customers to prepare the work area in advance:

  • Please ensure that the area around each window to be filmed is cleared to a minimum of 3 feet. This includes moving furniture, décor, or personal items that may block access.

  • While windows do not need to be spotless, it is helpful if they are relatively clean and free of heavy dirt or debris. As part of the installation process, our team will thoroughly clean the glass surface before applying the film.

  • Pets and children are welcome to remain in the home, but we kindly request they remain at a safe distance from the active work areas. This helps avoid distractions and ensures everyone's safety.

  • Our installers use sharp tools and utility knives during application. We take every precaution to dispose of blades safely and keep film rolls and tools out of reach.

9. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Any disputes arising under these terms will be resolved in the applicable courts located within Virginia.
